Hartenberg Chardonnay 2016

Grapes were handpicked in the early morning of each of the 7 days of picking, so as to capture the subtle primary flavours that the variety offers. Each batch from each of the morning picks as well as those of the individual parcels were kept separate in the cellar, so as to aid quality selection when it came to assembling the final blend.

Faint notes of lemon peel, bitter melon rind and a touch of straw dance lightly on the nose of this wine. The palate is similarly light and bright, with soft wood spice and toasted-apple flavors, as well as a good dose of orange oil. There's a hint of green apple and plum flavor as well, lending lift and verve to the palate and medium-length finish.
