• Practicing Biodynamic • 100% Grenache • Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard (Santa Barbara County AVA) • Situated in the northeastern corner of Santa Barbara County, high up in the Sierra Madre Mountains • 3,500 feet elevation • Highest elevation Grenache planting in California • The “Mesa Norte”block is a 9.5 acre planting to Grenache clone Tablas A • Planted in 2000 • Decomposed granite and clay loam, with large rocks of schist, quartzite, basalt and gneiss soils • Harvested: October 6th, 2022 (moon in Aquarious) • 52% whole cluster • Aged 10 months in neutral French 220L and 500L puncheons • Bottled: August 8th, 2022 (moon in Aries) • Production: 221 cases • 14.2% abv
