Gradis'Ciutta Friulano 2015 |
The Princic family has been a force on the wine scene in Collio, in northeastern Italy, for four generations; Filip, the great-grandfather of current owner Robert, started with two acres of vines in 1910; today there are 45 acres of vineyards spread out over the communes of Gorozia, Capriva del Friuli and Dolegna del Collio. This is 100% Friulano, the grape that was formerly known as Tocai; intense and persistent, with spicy flavors of hay and almonds and a hint of ripe golden apple on the finish, the wine is round, savory and elegant.
Color The color is straw yellow, luminous and brilliant, with citrus reflections. Nose Intense and persistent with spicy flavors of hay, almond and dried yellow flowers, finishing with a memory of ripe golden apples. Palate Round, but with a well-balaned savory note, that guarantees great drinking pleasure, with an elegant, deep slight bitterness and sensations of almond in the finish.
As an aperitif, with anipasti, prosciutto crudo di San Daniele and other various types, from soups to other first courses. It marries perfectly also with Montasio cheese and also easily pairs with plates of baked and marinated fish. |
