Gosset Grande Reserve is a truly faithful expression of the Gosset style. To achieve a cuvee of this quality, the cellar-master has blended the best of the various champagne crus at the grape- harvest with wines specially chosen from our reserve stocks for their richness and maturity. Powerful and aromatic, this champagne is ideal for serving as an aperitif or to accompany a very special meal.
Color - A clear, radiant and glimmering golden hue, with fine, light bubbles.Bouquet - Intense and complex, fresh and well-balanced. A delicately perfumed bouquet of daffodils, irises, chamomile blossom lead to ripe notes of black cherries. The nose opens up to hints of sweet spices and vanilla married with hints of marzipan.Taste - This full-bodied, mature wine is generous and concentrated on the palate, which, on first taste, bursts with warm hints of figs and candied cherries. Floral notes add sweetness and sophistication. Exceptional flavors of Melba toast, roasted almonds and lightly roasted coffee quickly emerge for exceptional complexity. The long, concentrated finish is marked by sweet aromas of chestnut puree and caramel, concluding with remarkable crispness.
A perfect companion to poultry, fowl, duck, rabbit, roasted or grilled lamb and veal, served with a flavorful sauce.Gosset’s reputation for excellence starts on the vines. Its champagnes are composed almost entirely of grapes from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. Unlike most champagne producers, this illustrious wine house purposely avoids malolactic fermentation and always performs riddling and disgorging of prestige cuvees and large-format bottles by hand. Gosset champagnes are made with infinite care and kept in deep cellars for at least three years - and up to five or more for vintage and prestige cuvees - before release.
Grape Varieties - 43% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir and 15% Pinot Meunier sourced entirely from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards.Chardonnay is sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in Mesnil Sur Oger, among Premier Cru vineyards. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier come from the Grand Cru vineyards of A , Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzenay. Vinification - A blend of three superior vintages and an excellent representation of the distinctive house style of Gosset. The wine spends approximately 5 years resting on the lees prior to release.
