Glen Carlou Chardonnay Quartz Stone 2014 |
Delicious notes of lemon, lime, honeysuckle, granite, quartz, integrated oak, caramel, and bright acid. Great texture, mouthfeel and density. Wavered a bit on the whether the acid was too prominent, but love the complexity, multitude of flavors and food matching aspects of this wine. he nose immediately transitioned from there to buttery, toasty notes and a touch of honey, while the palate provided much more in the way of savory characteristics: orange peel, straw, herbs, white pepper.
Though certainly present, the oak was well integrated with the palate and didn’t overdue itself – the wine still felt both fresh and full simultaneously. A combination of lemon meringue and butterscotch made for an extremely appealing finish.
