This Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is aromatically expressive and generously flavored with freshly cut herbs, scrumptious tropical fruit with subtle notes of blackcurrant leaf.
Pair with fresh shellfish, such as mussels or clams, steamed in a simple tomato, garlic and fresh herb broth with a touch of chili.
This vintage of Giesen's Sauvignon is a traditional balanced expression, but it does lack some of the interest of the previous year, perhaps thanks to the challenging 2018 vintage. Nevertheless, it delivers plenty of passion fruit, lime, black currant and grass characters, is slippery in texture and buoyed by crisp citrusy acidity. It is great plonked on the table at a fresh veg-filled summer meal.
