DESCRIPTION
The 2021 cuvée has the cranberry-like more tart fruit flavors that they always hope for in the Santa Cruz Mountains differentiating it from the more strawberry cola flavors of the North Coast and darker more blueberry flavors found further south. This is a maritime wine with acidity, lean, but not thin. There is just a touch of sweet richness from the 7% new oak.
The nose is gorgeously lifted with aromas of violets, black and Bing cherries, oak spice and a light forest floor. The palate is just shy of moderate in weight for a Pinot Noir with flavors of oak, cherry and gentle earth in great balance.
