Red Wine from the Marche region, Italy; variety: 100% Montepulcian. Friends brought to dinner. Very good wine, not quite as tough & rustic as a Montepulciano in the d'Abruzzo style, this is full bodied, with nice mellow blackberry, plum & cherry fruit.
There are also nice oak, chicorry, & chocolate tannic notes; these are nice & mellow too. After opening, 30 minutes, you start to notice some nice subtlies: anise, clove, & a whiff of bitumen. The finish held a bit of Raclette cheese.
