2021 was a near perfect vintage in the Santa Rita Hills — cool and steady all the way through a later than normal harvest. The 2021 Gamay really reflects the vintage — beautifully ripened fruits, but retaining focus, clarity and subtlety. Definitely our best Gamay to date.
Ripe red cherries and raspberries on the nose, with violets, black cherry candy, mint jelly and a touch of pepper. Concentrated but delicate cherry, raspberry, and cranberry in the mouth, with a long, somewhat spicy finish. Effortless to drink. Extremely flexible and food friendly, especially with a slight chill.
