A beautiful dry Riesling from a German master. This is a superb entry-level Trocken (dry) Riesling from a producer mainly known for their front-rank, world class single vineyard wines. With a fairly light body and fresh acidity with bright aromatics of citrus and wet minerals, this also has a nice textural weight and classical harmony. Quality, quality stuff for a very accessible price.

Its Origins
The Haag family has been in wine for just a little while - since 1605, to be precise - and over that time they have been instrumental in the development of Brauneberger, an area that has been recognised as one of the Mosel’s best since the sixth century. At the helm today is the youthful Oliver Haag, whose father Wilhelm (son of Fritz) became recognised as a Riesling world leader, awarded the deceptively simple title of Winegrower of the Year in 1994. Oliver himself has at his back a full oenological training as well as extensive experience with a number of leading Riesling producers. With results so superb they effectively define a modern classic style of Mosel Riesling, it seems clear that the Haag family’s future in wine may be as sure as it’s past.
While more mineral than fruit-forward on the nose, this pretty, dry Riesling is quite yielding, suggesting ripe, rich pink grapefruit and white peach on the palate. It's feather light but silky in texture, balanced by a strike of lemon acidity that lingers on the finish.

Classic green Riesling bottle, traditional label, golden yellow colour, citrusy and stony nose with flowers. Substantial, almost oily yet refreshing palate, with tingling acidity. Alongside the citrus fruit, there’s ripe peach and a long, mineral finish.
