Forstreiter Gruner Veltliner Schiefer 2018

Pear peel, miso and yeast on the nose immediately promise a savory wine. The palate delivers with an almost fizzingly fresh zesty core and a yeasty, salty texture that is both fruity and spicy. There is concentration and strength despite the slenderness. The finish is lip-smacking and long and reprises that lovely pear note. 

The merest hint of passion fruit gives this wine's nose a tropical twist. The palate still has some sprightly fizz, combining earthy, soy-like savory texture with pithy citrus notes. It's slender in body and finishes on a dry, refreshing note.
