Just slightly fragrant, this medium-bodied Insolia smells of red apple blossom, white peach, and white flower. Bitter citrus lifts the textured palate, a touch of spice leading into a rocky, savory finish. Cooked lemon and apple character. Just a hint of lime. Full body, layered and flavorful. Dense and lightly phenolic texture.

This dry, white wine is made from the grape insolia (in-SOW-leah). It is the Sicilian name for the Italian grape known as ansonica. Planted mainly in western Sicily, it is best known as the grape from which marsala is made. It also is grown in Tuscany.
