This is fabulous, old-style Barolo. Not a deeply colored wine, but wow, what a bouquet, and what a presence it has on the palate! There's a clear analogy to the wines from Domaine Dujac from the era that Jacques Seysses was making the wines. They were never deep in colour but they always had tremendous complexity.
That's because neither Pinot Noir nor Nebbiolo -- need dark color for the wine to have depth of flavor and complexity. A brilliant bottle of Barolo.
