El Peloton de la Muerte Mezcal Joven

'The march of the Dead" from the excellent mezcal producer Leyenda. This mezcal possesses impressive range with gorgeous notes of kiwi fruit, lemon zest, dried green peppercorn, classic agave and gentle smoke. A smooth and soft entry on the palate showing a ripe agave character and a hint of caramel leads to a finish with just the right amount of liveliness. A semi-dry mezcal made from Espadin (Angustifolia) agave presents notes of citrus, green leaves, herbaceous, caramel and melon.(80º) The Espadin agave was cooked in stone pit covered with lava rocks, after which it fermented for four days in wood vats. It was then double distilled in copper stills. All the wild agave used to produce El Peloton de la Muerte are organically grown.
