Duck Pond Chardonnay 2016 |
A full-bodied Chardonnay with aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, citrus, cardamom and pineapple. The palate is round with gentle acidity and a kiss of vanilla on the finish. A supple, fruit-forward Chardonnay with aromas and flavors of baked apple, pear and spice. Stainless steel fermentation retained its beautiful bright fruitiness, while three months of sur-lie oak aging added weight and structure without overwhelming the fruit flavors.
Our Chardonnay is mostly fermented in stainless steel to capture the rich fruitiness inherent in the Chardonnay grapes from Desert Wind Vineyard. Eighteen percent of the blend was fermented in barrels to add structure and weight. The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation to round out the mouthfeel with soft acidity. This full-bodied Chardonnay displays aromas of apple, vanilla, and cinnamon. Rich with soft acidity. Enjoy on its own or pair with seafood, roast chicken or hors d oeuvres.
