Dr. Loosen Riesling Dry Red Slate 2018

This dry counterpart to the classically fruity “Blue Slate” Riesling Kabinett is produced exclusively with fruit from estate-owned vineyards in Ürzig and Erden that have the iron-rich red slate soil. Fermented naturally in 3,000-liter casks.

Trocken Rotschiefer (aka Red Slate Dry) is clear, intense and lush on the ripe and well-concentrated nose with its warm slate and tropical fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich and racy-piquant, and the finish is straight and fresh, with remarkable complexity, salt, grip and pronounced acidity.
