DESCRIPTION
Despite its fine, gossamer-like texture, there's marked concentration in this powerful dry Riesling. Flavors of white grapefruit and gooseberry are penetrating and ripe, yet pristinely fresh, highlighted by bold strokes of crushed minerals and scintillating acidity. It's enthralling and invigorating, with a deep, mineral finish. Beautiful now, but should only improve through at least 2030.

Aged for 24 months, the 2013 Earthen Prelate Riesling Old Vines GG Réserve is clear, super ripe, rich and intense on the nose, with yeasty and slightly caramel-like flavors; but it currently has less of the prelate character that shines so terrifically in the 2015 Prelate GG (bottled after just one year on the full lees). The 2013 Réserve is full-bodied, finessed and highly elegant, very complex and well structured. The wine reveals a firm and salty structure with a very long finish. 8-10 years to get more of the Prelate character and less features from the élevage.
