A more deeply pitched nose exhibits notes of red and blue pinot fruit with more evident earth and humus nuances. The rich, full-bodied and imposingly scaled flavors possess excellent size, weight and power while delivering first-rate length on the austere finale.

This equally firm effort isn't quite as complex as the Fremiers, at least not today, though that may well change with time in bottle.
