Domaine Parent Pommard Les Chanlins 2015 |
Domaine Parent is a fixture in Pommard, with offices right in the center of the village. Claude Parent established the domain in 1803. Six generations later, in 1998, Anne and Catherine Parent took charge from their father Jacques. Anne Parent looks after the technicalities of the viti- and viniculture, while Catherine Fages-Parent is responsible for the commercial aspects of the business.
Sensuous, subtle, lightly floral and delicately fruity, yet with a nudge of pepper and leather to add personality. The 'Les Chanlins' 1er cru is made from 20ish-year-old vines on a more chalky soil, and spends 16 months in oak barrels, of which 40% are new. It's above all an elegant wine, disclosing raspberries, dark cherries, rose powder & chalk, followed by ripe oranges & cookie spices after it got to breathe. A complex wine with high acidity, fine-grained tannins and good length.
