Domaine Parent Corton Les Renardes 2016

The Corton les Renardes Grand Cru is 100% whole cluster fruit matured in one used barrel. The nose is initially more backward, but very pure. Perhaps a little timid at first, but it opens with candied red fruit, a touch of crushed rose petal and fine mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, beautifully balanced with the acidity lending edginess on the concentrated finish that lingers long in the mouth. 

The nose remains dirty over time, flowers, flesh and cooked fruit without harmony, cork and wet cellar. Better in mouth, it's still too alcoholic and hot, slightly spicy, but there's complicity between body and acidity.
