Les Chaffots indicates places where hay barns used to stand. Elsewhere, the name is "Echaffaud" (scaffold), forks etc. So it is probably the place where those sentenced to death were executed.
Tournedos beaugency or roasted lentils with grapes will be perfectly accompanied by this Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru.
Here the expressive nose is a bit more elegant with softly spicy and earth-inflected aromas that derive mostly from the red side of the fruit spectrum. There is a bit more concentration to the slightly more refined medium-bodied flavors that flash a hint of salinity on the firm and built to age finale.
