Domaine Fournier Pere et Fils Sauvignon Blanc Vin de Pays du Jardin 2016 |
Tasting notes
A fresh and crisp pure Sauvignon from the younger vines of the estate. A fantastic value!
This is a soft, lightly earthy style of wine produced from grapes from across the Loire Valley. It has a strong herbal character and a touch of grapefruit. Drink now.
Domaine Fournier is one of the most important estates in the Sancerre area. Their 150 acres of vineyards are spread across the Sancerre appellation and include top sites in the villages of Verdigny, Bue and Maimbray, which enable them to produce wines of sophistication and complexity. They also own well placed sites in Pouilly-Fume and Menetou-Salon. Their state-of-the-art winery is designed to minimize handling of the grapes and allow for careful selection on sorting tables. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks preserves the fruit and freshness. The Estate is directed by Claude Fournier, who is also the winemaker. He is dedicated to producing top quality wines of great elegance and finesse.
Technical notes
The vines are planted to well draining limestone, known as tuffeau.
