Domaine Filliatreau Saumur Champigny "Lena" (RED) 2018

The 2018 Saumur Champigny Lena Filliatreau is the first wine ever produced by the domaine, and it is still oozing charm. Sourced from vines averaging 35 years of age in the southeast of Saumur within the communes of Dampierre sur Loire, Varrains and Chacé, the 2018 displays a perfectly ripe, fine and aromatic bouquet of blackberries, black cherries and blackcurrant along with licorice and anise notes.

Vinified in stainless steel, this is a medium to full-bodied, dense, fresh and elegant, intense and mouth-filling fruity Cabernet Franc with silky-finessed tannins and a long, intense and aromatic finish with lingering licorice notes. A fabulous wine for everyday whose grapes were partly picked by machine but manually sorted at the domaine.
