Domaine Faiveley Mazis Chambertin 2014
Medium garnet burgundy color, very savory nose of chartecurie, dried cranberry and raspberry syrup, firm and gritty tannin, medium body with tastes of sour cherry, black tea, orange peel and tree bark, nicely structured and long aging is required to tame the beast, long savory finish.
Faiveley is gorgeous from the get-go. Perfumed nose of morello cherries, sweet raspberries and red roses which carries through to the mouth combining with undertones of minerals and earth. Really lovely soft, silky tannins that caresses the palate. This doesn't possess the austerity found in many young Faiveleys. Beautifully integrated at such a young age! I am seduced by this precious wine.
Nice tannins. Nice structure. Just lacking a littke fruit. Fine balance.
