Domaine du Moulin Piot Costieres de Nimes 2011 |
This new biodynamically-farmed Rhone blend really caught our attention for its excellent value. A bit more complex than your typical Cotes-du-Rhone, Mouliln Piot offers wonderful dark berry fruit notes throughout along with nice depth and concentration. The harvest is completely mechanical. The grapes are fully destemmed and crushed before fermentation. The vinification is very traditional: made in concrete vats with daily pumping overs. The maceration will last for almost 3 weeks. The wine will be aged in tanks for one year before bottling.
Nice ruby color. The nose is composed of jammy fruits with a touch of mint. The mouth is concentrated and powerful. The wine shows character of black fruits and spices.
