Domaine du Colombier Crozes-Hermitage 2017

Boasts a blanket of cedary oak, but underneath is some nicely textured fruit that bears a resemblance to ripe black cherries. The wine is medium- to full-bodied, with hints of vanilla on the finish.

Ripe dark peppery fruits with smoky notes of coal dust and faint raspberry highlights. Rich but crunchy and fresh enough. Solid in structure, robust but with plenty of juicy to it. Lively and interesting. A fun and very pure if not deeply complex Crozes.

An elegant Crozes with more flesh than Entrecoeurs, a little softer yet more structure and weight. Very harmonious on the palate, it finishes cleanly and is a lovely, complete glass of wine.
