Domaine des Valanges Saint-Veran Hors Classe 2011

The Chardonnay vines are over 60 years old and produce a fabulous wine with great minerality and tension. There is depth on the palate with honey, oatmeal, good oak and lots of vivacity.

Our Saint-Veran wines have a refined personality and a somewhat more opulent flavour on the palate. Connoisseurs appreciate them because of their complex bouquet of fruit (peach, pear), white flowers, almond, and honey, accompanied by mineral overtones. Our vineyard plots are ideally suited to Chardonnay, producing elegant designer wines that fully reflect the richness of their terroir and vintage character. 

From a single vineyard, this wine is generous and ripe with red apples and a touch of spice. It is young, with a strong mineral edge that gives a zesty citrus tang. At the same time, the acidity and the fruitiness are developing well.
