The 2014 Volnay Taillepieds is 100% whole cluster fruit like the Mitans. It has a taut, detailed, mineral-infused bouquet that gently unfurls in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a surfeit of minerals, beautifully defined, saline in the mouth with a linear, penetrating finish that lingers long and tenderly
Bright medium red. Pungent spices and peppery herbs currently overshadow raspberry fruit on the fresh nose. In a juicy, peppery, penetrating style, tightly chiseled and dominated by its structure in the early going. Finishes classically dry, firmly tannic and lightly saline.
