Domaine de l'Iserand Saint Joseph Les Sabots de Coppi 2020 |
A superb Saint-Joseph by Jean-Francois Malsert, vinified in whole harvest and matured for 15 months, a nose of violets and pepper, a round and tannic mouth to finish on spices and freshness
It is in Sècheras, in the heart of the Saint-Joseph appellation and once stronghold of the Lord of Iserand, that Jean-François Malsert created his estate from family land formerly cultivated by his grandfather.
After having replanted in 2010/11 and acquired 1 hectare of 30-year-old Syrahs, he now works organically and biodynamically on 4 hectares of vines (Syrah, Gamay, and the white grape varieties of the Saint-Joseph appellation) "It's the fruit which is important", says the winegrower, who sticks to the most respectful practices of the plant and the terroir.
