The Saint-Amour “À la Folie” has won over so many with its unabashed, bodacious curves, middleweight texture and big flavor. It was always the greater potential production between these two Saint-Amour crus and was the one the Chardigny boys ran most of their experiments with different aging vessels between concrete, stainless steel, foudre, and small oak barrels.
On the nose, this Beaujolais rich in personality is a punch of charming bright and full red fruit, freshly cut sweet green herbs and warm earthiness. The cellar aging takes place in a mix of concrete, stainless steel, and neutral oak barrels, which keeps the wine full of life—a real show stopper!
