Domaine Blain Brouilly 2014 |
Grape: Gamay
Geography: Burgundy, France
Appellation: Brouilly
Lucie and Marc-Antonin Blain (winemakers at Domaine Blain-Gagnard in Chassagne-Montrachet) present their first vintage in Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly. They bought several parcels of old vines on the slopes of Mount Brouilly in 2014.
Domaine Blain Sister et Frère has 6 hectares of gamay, vines over 50 years old, and gives 3 distinct cuvées according to their altitude on the mountain: a brouilly and two Brouilly coast: “Pierre Bleue” and “Les Jumeaux “. The vineyard belonged to a friend of the grandmother of Marc-Antonin and Lucie Blain whose children did not wish to resume exploitation.
Notes
A toasty-grilled note marks the first nose and leaves place quickly to aromas of fresh red fruits. The palate is well balanced, harmonious, medium in concentration but with elegant material. A pretty vintage on the register of freshness.
