DESCRIPTION

• Destilado de agave produced in Ahuacuotzintla, Guerrero • Maestro Mezcalero Javier Barranca • Produced from 100% Papalote (Agave cupreata) • Cooked in an earthen pit oven • Milled with a small mechanical shredder • Fermented in white pine (ayacahuite) tanks using spring water • Distilled twice using traditional copper pot stills • Watermelon Jolly Rancher, strawberry shrub, and overripe mango on the nose with white tea, Cinnamon Red Hots, banana-flavored Runts, cucumber, and mint stem on a robust, fruity palate • 52% ABV Who’s ready for a good time?! This is an absolute joy of a mezcal, with vibrant party vibes rising up and out of the glass, as though surfing on wave after wave of tropical aromas, emboldened by the slightly elevated ABV. Watermelon Jolly Rancher, hard strawberry candy, mango lassi, passion fruit, and a touch of Orange Julius extoll nostalgic sense memories before your lips even touch the glass. A treat, in every sense, this batch comes to us from Javier Barranca, grandson of Don Ciro Barranca, who helped found Sanzekan back in 1990. Javier more than lives up to his auspicious lineage here, and this destilado is far too easy to guzzle at 52%.
