Dehlinger's Altamont Pinot Noir celebrates the hilltop sections of the vineyard, where red, clay-rich altamont soil dominates. The Altamont Pinot Noir showcases darker fruit flavors and enticing baking-spice aromas, and the inclusion of a small amount of whole clusters in the fermentation lends greater structure and enhanced aging potential in this sought-after wine.
An underlying sense of harmony and finesse elevates this wine. The core of plum and raspberry is shaded by fresh earth accents, turning up hints of red and black licorice, graphite and oak, all supported by firm tannins.

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
