Is it possible to make a bigger, bolder blend? You bet. Our expert winemaker, Beth Liston, sourced the best grapes in California and used innovative winemaking techniques to craft this dark red. This blend won’t shy away from showing off with smooth, luxurious flavor. And when you’ve got a winning hand like that, it’s time to Double Down.
About the Wine:
Dark Horse Double Down combines notes of ripe blackberries and raspberries layered with toasted oak and warm brown spice, complemented by slight hints of mocha. This Dark Red Blend is bold and complex with a rich mid-palate and lasting finish that is sure to crush expectations. Pour a glass and Double Down.
Winemaking Notes:
For this limited release Dark Red Blend, grapes were harvested at optimum ripeness which allows for easy and early extraction of the rich, concentrated color and produces velvety tannins. Fermentation temperatures were kept between 88ºF and 92ºF which creates more intense characteristics and fruitier aromatics. After fermentation, the wine was aged to add complexity and structure to this dark, luxurious and bold Red Blend.
