This is the perfect entry into the wildly delicious, esoteric wines of Antonio Madeira. It's base camp for his reds, the entry point into his exciting range. The vines for this wine range from 50-100 years of age. All granite soils, 20+ varieties in the mix. An exotic, dark and spicy wine ensues.
This is energetic, medium-full bodied, filled with spice and crunchy, moreish tannin. A note of violet in the perfume. Some dark, plummy fruit in the mix. It's seductive and draws you back to the glass. This is a great way to discover the fascinating wines of the Dao.
