Cossart Gordon Madeira Bual 5 Year

We like the Madeira Bual 5 YO Cossart Gordon because it best expresses the characteristics of the grapes used to produce it: the Bual grape. The latter is the sweetest and sugary grape variety grown on the island of Madeira and certainly this characteristic is well represented in this wine, with a darker color and a medium-bodied structure. But its intrinsic quality is the excellent freshness that does not make it cloying but rather alive and almost spicy. 

Madeira Bual 5 YO Cossart Gordon is aged for 5 years in American oak barrels using the traditional "Canteiro" method, which involves an artificial heating of the wine in the cellars of Funchal in imitation of the one suffered by Madeira wines during the long journey towards the Americas in past centuries.

TASTING NOTES
Orange not too heavy, the nose has a large bouquet of sweet notes like overripe or candied fruit, including apricot and dates, maple syrup, vanilla and honey. In the mouth it is sweet but at the same time fresh and well balanced. Final long and concentrated.

Seasoned Gouda cheese or crème brûlée.
