Conterno Fantino Barolo Mosconi 2014

Deep garnet in color, fruity bouquet recalling brushwood, berry fruit, brier rose; gorgeous structure, ripe, rich tannins, complex, and austere. Blackberry and floral aromas with hints of spices. Wet earth, too. Medium body and fine and silky tannins that are very polished.

This red evokes cherry, leather, earth and even a hint of manure in the aromas and flavors, yet has plenty of stuffing and flesh to offset the austere tannins. Leaves you wanting more on the lingering aftertaste. 

Aromas of toasted oak, espresso and dried sage form the nose. The tightly wound palate evokes black cherry jam, coconut, mocha and licorice while astringent tannins dry out the finish.
