The 2019 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a more open bouquet compared to the preceding Charmes-Chambertin, unfolding with black cherries, cassis and iodine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins.
This is a voluminous Clos de la Roche that seems to fill the mouth, yet it batons down the hatches on the saline finish, confirming that it deserves several years in bottle.
