With lush fruits and soft tannin this Cru Beaujolais is loaded with ripe red berries. The warm 2016 vintage brought much rounder wines to this region of Beaujolais. The nose of crushed raspberries and granite echo on the palate with pure, fruit-forward cherries and a soft mouthfeel. Christophe is the nephew of the late Marcel Lapierre, a legend in Beaujolais.
A slightly rustic, meaty and chewy Saint-Amour with plenty of tannins, as well as sinewy wild cherries and red plums. Better drink young while it’s fleshy. Drink now
The 2016 Saint Amour has a clean and pure bouquet with redcurrant, Morello and light orange blossom scents. This is very well defined. The palate is well defined with stern tannin on the entry, the acidity nicely judged with a sense of focus and tension on the almost ”brittle” but tensile finish. Classic, understated, mineral-driven Saint Amour.
