Chono Carmenere 'Single Vineyard' Colchagua Valley 2019 |
Named after the indigenous Chono tribe, who were described by Darwin as ‘one of the bravest native tribes’, were well known for having a passion for life and for nature. This passion was the inspiration behind Chono which is a project designed to showcase wines expressive of the region where they thrive best.
Created by Alvaro Espinoza in 2004, Chono wines are carefully selected, single vineyard varietals from some unique terroirs in Chile. This signature wine, native of the Colchagua Valley, a few hours south of Santiago, is a great example of Carmenère. Cherry, damson plum and cinnamon fill the nose whilst the palate is silky, plump and abundant, finishing on freshness. A lovely wine.
