Chateau Mauvesin Barton Moulis En Medoc 2011 |
Lilian Barton chose to acquire Chateau Mauvesin for the unique ambience one inevitably feels upon entering these grand premises: 500 years of wine-making tradition must have left its mark. However, Lilian’s family has their own close ties with the world of wine since 1725. The first representative of the Bartons in France (he arrived here from Ireland) was a wine merchant. The interest persisted among his descendants and his grandson achieved to become a property owner, having acquired Chateau Langoa in 1821 and some of Leoville vineyards in 1826, making the Bartons one of only three families, owning their estates since pre-1855 Classification times.
This ruby red wine marries forest fruits with a discreet but present wooden aroma. The elegant tannins and supple on the palate make it ready to drink now.
