Chateau de Chantegrive

Deep, dark, not quite opaque purple-ruby color, becoming quite purple at the rim. Aromas are of chalky dark-plum & damson over clean, cedary oak. The palate shows plumy red & black fruits, fine tannins & some toastiness.

On the mid-palate the tannins give a little bitter grip which compliments the smooth, juicy fruit nicely. Fresh acidity enlivens the fruit on the finish. The wine's alcohol is well in balance & the flavors last well.
