Castle Rock Pinot Noir Carneros 2013

Earthy cherry coulis and a strong scent of menthol dominate in this value-priced wine—a hard find in this varietal category. Thin on the palate, it's an easygoing quaff, light and fairly nondescript in oak and fruit, dusted in forest pine. 

Tart cherry supports seductive aromas of perfumed cola and cinnamon in this otherwise lean, sour and somewhat bitter-ending wine.
