Casillero del Diablo Carmenere 2017 |
This variety disappeared from its place of origin in Médoc, north of Bordeaux, France following the phylloxera outbreak in the 19th century. It reappeared in Chile at the end of the 20th Century. In Casillero del Diablo Carmenere is smooth and delicate with intense color, smooth, round tannins, and attractive aromas of black currant and chocolate.
Ideal with aged cheese.

Hope this is as good as the 2015!
We had the 2015 Casillero del Diablo Carmenere in Chile this past summer and is was great. There was only one bottle left in our local US store and they said they were not ordering more. We ordered 6 bottles of 2017 from Wine Chateau - so glad that they had it at all - and we received 3 bottles of 2017s and 3 bottles of 2018. Is it normal to get years you didn't order? Maybe they were out of 2018. At any rate, we are looking forward to trying them both and hope they are as delicious as the 2015!
