DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Carruades is the second wine of Chateau Lafite Rothschild, with a higher proportion of Merlot than the grand vin: the 2021 is 55 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 36 Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Pure cassis and graphite, black raspberry and redcurrant with wild sage and tobacco. Supple and lively, tightly wound, with grainy tannin and an herbal lift. Better in a few years.
