Old Hill Ranch in Sonoma Valley holds some of the oldest vines in California, planted as a field blend where everything grows together and is picked together. Zinfandel leads, with a couple of dozen other varieties mixed in. Red and dark berry with bramble, liquorice and herbs, a smoky earthy streak, and enough acidity to carry the concentration.
