It is distilled from blackstrap molasses and aged for one year in American oak barrels before it is charcoal-filtered. The label highlights navigational coordinates marking the locations of some historic shipwrecks throughout history including the Titanic. A portion of the sale of each bottle will be donated to the St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network which rescues and protects sea turtles.

The Brinley family has a history on St. Kitts that dates back to 1984. In 2004, Bob and, his son, Zach began hand-crafting their Brinley Gold Vanilla Rum and opened a small Rum Shoppe on the cruise port. Through the years they’ve added Coffee, Mango, and Coconut Rum, and most recently Shipwreck Spiced. As Spiced Rum sales surged, quickly becoming the brand-leader, Brinley Gold rebranded their flavored rums in May 2012 to include the Shipwreck name.
