The Bovio Il Ciotto Barbera d'Alba is made from 100% Barbera grown in the calcareous clay soils of La Morra, Barolo. To emphasize the freshness of the varietal, all grapes are fermented and aged in stainless steel before being bottled, unfiltered. In the glass the wine sits a deep ruby color with purple highlights.
The nose is pristine, emitting enchanting aromas of pomegranate, cherry and a whiff of blackberry alongside an engaging floral note. On the palate, the Bovio Barbera is focused and fresh with a crisp acidity and light, fruity tannins that give the wine an energetic lift while enhancing its fabulous fruit concentration. Enjoy with grilled pork chops served with gnocchi or polenta.
