Bodegas Viñátigo Gual 2021

This is a knockout from the first whiff - never had anything quite like this before. Deep and brassy in tone with strong flint and gunpowder aromatics, like sticking your nose in that volcano. It's rare for a white wine to go this bassy on the scale - even rarer for it to do so while staying as crisp as this.

It's got serious bite, a combination of the acidity and what feels like stiff alcohol, but that's not an issue because a wine as dense and packed as isn't something you just throw back.
