The 2020 Blaufränkisch Ried Marienthal is from a sandy limestone site. Blueberry, ink and cinnamon come together on an aromatic nose. The palate presents even more florality initially. The dense tannins weave into the fine acidity and present velvety richness that comes with a mocha edge on a precise, contoured body. Juicy berry peeks through again on the finish. The 2020 shows great substance, no fat, much depth and elegance.
